The Christmas shopping season is here.  We’ll be buying and checking off items on those Christmas lists of wants.

        Recent research found that anywhere from 11 to 40% of Americans rent storage units to store their stuff.  Operating storage facilities is a 50 billion dollar market in the US and is growing.  Let’s talk about how we feel about having so much stuff and our need for what is really important in our lives.  Luke 12:15:  And [Jesus] said to them, "Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions."

The Wired Word

Each Sunday at 9:00am we offer “Coffee, Tea, & Thee” a time for adults and older teens to engage in faith conversations. The weekly topic is based on The Wired Word, a resource that provides background, scripture, and prayer around a timely topic or two that has recently been in the news.

For those who are interested, you can receive an advanced copy of the weekly Wired Word via email by contacting the church office at Office@HamburgFirstUCC.org, and request to be added to The Wired Word email list. There is no cost to you to receive these materials, and there is no commitment needed for a certain number of Sundays — we will be happy to welcome and share in fellowship with you for which ever Sundays you are able to come.
