Jutta Lisa (Deubel) Bausher

It is with great sadness that the family of Jutta Lisa Deubel Bausher announce her passing on October 22, 2025.
Born in Reading, Pa on July 18, 1930, to the late O. Richard and Paula M, (Lutza) Deubel, Jutta spent ninety-four of her ninety-five years of life as a resident of Hamburg Pennsylvania. Jutta had one sister, the late Ruth E. (Deubel) Dunkelberger married to the late Edwin W. Dunkelberger. On September 6, 1952, Jutta was married to the late Ralph A. Bausher having celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Jutta is survived by one son, Eric R. Bausher Reading, Pennsylvania and one daughter, L. Heidi (Bausher) Schappell wife of Ralph R. Shappell Hamburg Pennsylvania. Jutta has four grandchildren, Richard C. Shappell husband of Ashley S. (Walton) Shappell Leesport Pennsylvania, Joel D. ShappellGilbertville Pennsylvania, Derich C. Bausher Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania, Lauren M. Bausher Reading Pennsylvania. She has two great grandchildren, Addison R. Shappell and Reese A. Shappell.
Jutta is a graduate of Hamburg High School class of 1948. She attended Bucknell University having earned a bachelor’sdegree in banking and finance.
Jutta was employed for Hamburg Saving and Trust Company which later became Pennsylvania National Bank having been employed there for a total of 48 years. Jutta began as a teller for the bank having advanced to the director to personal trust services.
Jutta was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg Pennsylvania. She sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Over the years Jutta participated in a wide range of activities (far too many to mention) with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family in general, such as “Cub Scouts” and band boosters. She was a “Girl Scout” leader starting in her early twenty’s, Troop # 47, having been involved with her “Girl Scout” troop until her death.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, with the Rev. Dr. Benjamin Motz of First UCC in Hamburg officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in St. John’s Cemetery, Hamburg.
