Steven Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel – what is this fear of losing free speech all about?  An excerpt from The Wired Word includes: “In the novel City of Peace, a Methodist pastor named Harley Camden speaks about the power of words.  ‘I’m convinced that words create reality,’ Harley explains.”  How we chose to use our words is important.  How we interpret the words of others is important.  As Christians, shouldn’t we let God in before we chose to believe or do anything?  Let’s talk about it…

The Wired Word

Each Sunday at 9:00am we offer “Coffee, Tea, & Thee” a time for adults and older teens to engage in faith conversations. The weekly topic is based on The Wired Word, a resource that provides background, scripture, and prayer around a timely topic or two that has recently been in the news.

For those who are interested, you can receive an advanced copy of the weekly Wired Word via email by contacting the church office at Office@HamburgFirstUCC.org, and request to be added to The Wired Word email list. There is no cost to you to receive these materials, and there is no commitment needed for a certain number of Sundays — we will be happy to welcome and share in fellowship with you for which ever Sundays you are able to come.
