This Week’s Theme: What the Bible Says about Children
The Peanuts cartoon series created by Charles Schultz is 75 years old this year. Schultz was a Christian so it isn’t surprising that over 500 of his cartoon creations of kids have a religious theme. On Sunday, November 2 we’ll look at what the Bible has to say about children and how we need to be like them. “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:3 ESV).
Join our conversation about these contemporary topics and what the Bible has to say about them. We’ll have coffee and tea, of course!
The Wired Word
Each Sunday at 9:00am we offer “Coffee, Tea, & Thee” a time for adults and older teens to engage in faith conversations. The weekly topic is based on The Wired Word, a resource that provides background, scripture, and prayer around a timely topic or two that has recently been in the news.
For those who are interested, you can receive an advanced copy of the weekly Wired Word via email by contacting the church office at Office@HamburgFirstUCC.org, and request to be added to The Wired Word email list. There is no cost to you to receive these materials, and there is no commitment needed for a certain number of Sundays — we will be happy to welcome and share in fellowship with you for which ever Sundays you are able to come.
