Blessing of the Palms
Before he was arrested and crucified, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey with people laying cloaks and palm branches in front of him (similar to today’s practice of rolling out the red carpet), and they were cheering, “Hosanna! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” (Mark 11:9).
During the Palm Sunday worship service we will have our annual blessing of the palm branches. After worship, everyone is invited to take a blessed palm branch home with them.
The Sixth Sunday in Lent is also known as Palm Sunday and Passion Sunday.
Sacrament of Baptism & Children Singing
We are very excited that in addition to the Blessing of the Palms, we will be sharing in infant baptism and hearing the children’s choir sing this Sunday.
