Good Friday - Cross Walk & Worship

Good Friday Cross Walk

On Good Friday, April 3, 2026 at 11:00am the members of the Northern Berks Ministerium Churches (and anyone else interested in joining us for this walk) will be gathering in the parking lot of First UCC for our annual walk around the streets of Hamburg carrying a large cross, as we remember Christ’s walk with the cross to Golgotha, where he was crucified.

Following the walk, we will have a worship service in the sanctuary of First UCC, which will begin at about 12:00noon. This year’s preacher will be the Rev. Alejandro Alvarez, the pastor of Victory Chapel in Hamburg.

There is no luncheon after the Good Friday service, but some participants do like to go out to a restaurant together after worship.

Northern Berks Ministerium Lent Series

For the six Thursdays of Lent, churches within the Northern Berks Ministerium will be taking turns hosting a worship service followed by a luncheon. Our theme this year is “The Last 24 Hours That Changed the World.“ We hope you will join us as we grow in faith and grow in supportive fellowship with one another.
