First UCC is receiving donations to support the Hoffert family of Perry Township, following the devastating fire that destroyed their home in late March 2026.

If you prefer, you may mail a check payable to “First UCC in Hamburg” marked “Fire Victims”, mail to First UCC; 76 South 3rd Street; Hamburg, PA 19526.
You can place cash or a check in an envelope marked “Fire Victims” and place the envelope is the offering plate during worship.
Fundraiser
First UCC is also providing our auditorium on Saturday, April 11 for friends of the family to hold a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 8:00am-11:00am to help the Hoffert family. The breakfast is $10 per person. There will be raffle baskets available at the event and baskets are being accepted. We hope that you will come and give your support.

Thank you to everyone in the Northern Berks community and beyond who have so graciously supported fundraising and donation efforts thus far for the Hoffert Family. They have a long road ahead of them and we will continue to help support them as much as we can along the way. Please see the continued list of needs moving forward. Any changes/updates will be communicated through this post.
1. Clothing- All clothing donations are on hold. There was an overwhelming amount of clothing donated last evening and unfortunately not enough room to store any additional donations of clothing items.
2. Monetary donations- Family is still in need and can use both monetary donations to be spent on essential items as well as gift cards for locations such as Walmart, Target, Redners, Giant and other retailers/grocery stores. Due to allergies, no meal donations are able to be accepted at this time.
3. AYCE Pancake Breakfast, Saturday, April 11th, 8am-11am. Breakfast will be held at First Reformed UCC Church, 76 S. 3rd St, Hamburg, PA 19526. $10per person. There will be raffle baskets available at the event and baskets are being accepted.
4. For those that would like to donate via Venmo, the Shoemakersville Baseball Association is collecting donations via their Venmo account. (List is in it’s infant stages, this is simply a wishlist as the family turns to rebuilding.)
6. As additional needs present themselves, we will share at that time. Until then, if you have any of the above items (monetary donations, gift cards, raffle baskets) and would like to assist the family, please be sure to visit the drop-off location on Thursday evening.
