300th Anniversary of the First Communion served to a Reformed Congregation

Saturday, September 20, 2025
from 1:00-4:00PM

This year marks the 300th Anniversary celebration of the first time communion was served in a Reformed (UCC) Congregation in Pennsylvania, by the first ordained Reformed pastor in the new world, the Rev. John Phillip Boehm.

That first communion took place at Falkner Swamp United Church of Christ in Gilbertsville, which is where this special anniversary service will be celebrated, followed by an ice cream social.

During the service, we will be hearing from church historians: Bob Wood, Dr. Kevin Sterner, and Dr. David Sterner.

Join us on Saturday, September 20 at 1:00pm at Falkner Swamp UCC; 2077 Swamp Pike; Gilbertsville, PA.

For more information, please contact the pastor of Falkner Swamp UCC, the Rev. Frances Chester at PastorFalknerSwamp@comcast.net.
