AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM - Fall 2026 - Call for Volunteers

Program starts mid-September 2026

Starting in the fall of 2025, First UCC has been in conversations with the Hamburg Middle School about how we can be of support to youth in our community.   The Consistory affirmed the direction of those initial conversations and encouraged those conversations to continue into the winter of 2026.   Following those conversations with the school, the Consistory discerned that the Holy Spirit was leading us to start a faith-based after school reading, tutoring, and homework assistance program.   We are in the midst of developing that program, and we hope to launch a pilot program in mid-September 2026. 

  There are a variety of ways in which you can volunteer to help, and we hope that you will prayerfully consider how God may be leading you to help support these youth.   You wouldn’t need to volunteer every week; we are hoping to create a schedule, where some might volunteer every other week, others perhaps once a month, others more or less frequently.
