We had an amazing time at Knoebels this past Sunday, August 10, for Knoebels Family Day! Participants took part in a worship service and luncheon before heading out to enjoy family and fun! During our service, we learned about loving relationships, faith, hope, and......treasure! What an egg-mazing week of VBS! For our last day, Lauren from Heritage Homestead returned with adorable piglets. Plus there was a great skit, singing and dancing, crafts, games, praying together, pie in the face, an egg finally cracked over the pastor's head, zipline our Heifer International offering into a gong (a joyful noise of a collection to help people in need), and yummy ice cream! What a great last day to capstone a great week! Thank you to everyone who made this week possible. Thank you to all the youth who joined in VBS. No kiddding, we had a goatastic fun time on Day 3 of VBS! Thank you to Erin and Nova for bringing 2 month old doeling Misty and buckling Chip for goat cuddling. Each day we share a different Bible passage. This week focuses on passages that include animals. This evening's Bible passage was the creation story from Genesis 1; it was especially meaningful, as we learned this was the first time some of the youth had ever heard the Genesis creation story. It was an awesome and humbling opportunity to share God creating all the plants and animals, including us, and entrusting us to care for all the plants and animals in God's creation, including caring for one another. We joyfully welcomed new youth today, making new friends, as our number of participants continues to grow. If you missed the first few days, you are still very much welcome and invited. Happy National Hot Dog Day and also a few days early, Happy National Ice Cream Day! First UCC celebrated these two National Days this past Sunday with some tasty hot dogs and ice cream! Yum!!!
